Why use this free RAW photo converter
Built for speed and privacy. It works on any modern browser, on desktop or phone.
Files never leave your device
It runs inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded to LeadCanal or stored anywhere.
Only the right files open
It accepts .dng, .cr2, .nef, .arw, .raf, .orf, .rw2, .pef, .srw and .cr3 and checks each file's first bytes, so renamed programs or scripts are refused.
Free with no limits we impose
No signup, no watermark and no daily cap. Big files depend only on your device memory.
Several files at once
Where it makes sense, drop many files and download them together as a ZIP.
DNG vs JPG: why convert DNG to JPG
| DNG (RAW) | JPG | |
|---|---|---|
| File size | 20 to 75 MB per photo | 2 to 8 MB per photo |
| Opens on | Photo editors like Lightroom | Every phone, browser and app |
| Editing room | Large: exposure and white balance can be changed | Small: changes reduce quality |
| Best for | Editing and archiving | Sharing, uploading, printing |
Fast preview or full RAW decode
Most DNG files carry a full-size JPEG preview made by the camera or phone. Using it is instant and the colours match what you saw on your screen.
If a file only has a small preview, the converter decodes the RAW sensor data instead. That takes a few seconds per photo and gives neutral colours you can adjust later.
- Rotation applied correctly
- Camera make and model shown
- Up to 250 MB per file
Step-by-step guides
Step-by-step help from our blog, written for the questions people ask most.
Your files stay on your device
This converter runs inside your browser, using your own computer or phone to do the work. The file is never uploaded to LeadCanal or anyone else, and nothing is saved on our servers. Close the tab and it is gone.
Each tool only opens the file types it is built for. We check the file extension and the first bytes of the file, so a renamed program or script is refused before it is opened.
Drop the DNG files into the converter and click Convert to JPG. Download each JPG or all of them as a ZIP.
AirDrop or export the ProRAW photo to your computer as DNG, then convert it here. On the iPhone itself you can also duplicate the photo and edit it, which saves a HEIC or JPG copy.
JPG is compressed, but at High quality the difference is not visible for viewing or printing. Keep the DNG if you plan to edit later.
Yes, in batches. Speed depends on your device, since everything runs in your browser.
